Calgary Foothills FC recently completed their inaugural season in the Premier Development League – the third-tier of North American soccer. They finished mid-table in their division.
The club is the latest attempt in Calgary to build and maintain a high-level footballing presence in the city – all past attempts have eventually puttered out and failed.
But those involved at Foothills FC, along with some of Calgary’s soccer-starved footy fans, are hoping that interest in the club and the game will catch on this time – a future Major League Soccer team being the lofty objective.
