Amazon River in Brazil

Slow boats are ferries that transport both passengers and cargo on the Amazon River in Brazil. Since many communities in the Amazon jungle aren’t connected by roads these boats are the most common form of public transport.

The 750km trip from Manaus to Santarém trip takes 30 hours, stopping at various jungle communities along the way.
